Legal Prostitution In Nevada 1967 was a landmark year in Nevada as the Storey County commissioners legalized and licensed the first brothel, The Mustang Ranch. Operated for years by Joe Conforte, the Mustang Ranch became the defacto standard by which all legal brothels in Nevada were judged by. There were others that competed, but none could match the reputation the Mustang Ranch developed over the years. Other legal brothels in Nevada may have had a different approach in their style of operation, but when it came down to it, the Mustang Ranch still owned the distinction of being the world's famous and probably, the most renown.
Currently, there are over 30 legal and licensed brothels operating in Nevada. Some brothels are huge, others are small. Some are built lavishly, others resemble simple dwellings. Some are located in the heart of town, others just off the beaten path while some are just off highways and Interstates. Unless you know what you're looking for, some of the legal brothels blend in with neighboring buildings while others offer a less than subtle light beacon and signage, highlighted with bright neon lights.
Each county has the right to decide whether or not to allow a legal brothel in their county. And with that right come restrictions which is watched over closely by county law enforcement agencies. Legal brothel owners comply with the county laws set forth and value their legal brothel license with high regard. In most cases, legal brothel owners become a part of community by sponsoring charity fund raisers or offering a neighborly helping hand when needed. The only counties that prohibit prostitution in any form, legal or illegal, are Washoe, Douglas and Clark county. Seated in these counties are the cities of Reno, Carson City (State Capitol), Lake Tahoe and Las Vegas. These cities and counties chose not to legalize prostitution in order to maintain their tourism and gambling interest. Yes, prostitution does exist in these cities but it is illegal and could make your visit one you'd like to forget.
The euphemism, party or partying is the time spent with the Lady of your choosing and is dependent on the money you decide to spend. As to the price, that depends on the Lady, the legal brothel minimum rules and in some cases, the geographical area. Legal brothels located nearby major cities in Nevada tend to cost more whereas country brothels, ones located in smaller towns tend to be in line with economic values in their community. Some legal brothels even accept major credit cards with a valid ID (sorry, no checks) and in some places even offer an ATM machine with a small service fee. The Lady of your choosing gets a percentage of your party and the rest goes to the legal brothel.
Because licenses are involved, this means certain laws and restrictions for the Lady. Background checks are conducted by the county law enforcement office and permits are then issued. The Ladies must also be medically cleared before they can work in a legal brothel and are routinely checked once a week by a licensed medical practitioner. As for the patrons, you must be over the age of 18 to enter and if you happen to look young enough, your ID will be checked. Don't be offended when asked for your identification. The management is just protecting their license and interest in the legal operation. Some of the legal brothels feature a full service bar, however, you must be 21 years of age and older to consume alcohol.
One important detail we must mention. The use of condoms. It is required by law that condoms be worn and be used during your sexual activity with the Lady of your choosing. Don't cop an attitude about this or you will be walked. It's safe sex. Safe for you and safe for the livelihood of the Lady. Since prostitution was legalized in Nevada, the Center For Disease Control in Atlanta reports there has never been a reported incident of AIDS or sexually transmitted disease (STD) from a legal brothel.
